Ranger Properties Founded in 2007, Ranger Properties, LLC is an integrated property management and full-service development firm, which is a direct successor to the Valhal Corp management firm that began in 1986. Ranger expanded from investors in real estate where most projects were re-positioning of assets to developers where it focuses on new developments in commercial and residential properties.
As of 2016, Ranger Properties LLC under its own name or through affiliates has developed in excess of 2 million square feet of commercial and residential projects including affordable and market rate multifamily, hotels and mixed-use projects. Most of those were closely managed where the developer/owner played an active role in the construction. As of 2015, the firm has acted as its own general contractor through its affiliate Ranger Builders LLC in construction of all its projects, completing three in this period. Ranger is focused on creating enduring projects that positively contribute to the community. They have a decades-long track record of working with conventional lenders, city, state and federal agencies, and multiple governmental agencies to realize projects that align with public goals.
Sheldon Stein, the sole principal of Ranger Properties LLC has managed and developed multifamily apartments since 1988, initially as CEO of Valhal Corp. and then under the banner of Ranger Properties. Sheldon began contracting in 1978 in connection with a family real estate business in Brooklyn, NY renovating historic buildings for its own use. Familiar with all trade work learned at a young age in the field, Stein became practiced at ground up construction and renovation in New York City. In doing so, his skill set expanded to interpreting blueprints and managing jurisdictional municipal codes.
Ranger Properties’ philosophy on development is that the projects have to not only be outstanding aesthetically, but they have to be fun and playful, the best long-term value is realized when a property continues to surprise.
