The Sohmer Piano
The Sohmer Piano is a pre-war condo building built in 1898 located in the Flatiron District of New York City.
Originally home to The Sohmer Piano Co, a business owned and managed by the Sohmer family for over 100 years, this sliver building, designed by Robert Maynicke in the Beaux-Arts style. 170 Fifth Avenue was named the Sohmer Piano Building, after the early commercial tenant invented the modern baby grand piano.
Purchased, renovated and converted from office to 11 loft units. (1990-2003)
